Overview

Building the Future of Education in Conflict-Affected Regions

The Education for Peace (EfP) Foundation is a non-political, global initiative working to restore access to safe, high-quality education for children whose lives have been disrupted by conflict. We create schools that restore stability, confidence and a sense of possibility to children’s daily lives.

Rooted in local leadership and supported by international expertise, our model combines strong safeguarding, modern curriculum design and long-term system building.
EfP is a foundation in formation. This website reflects the
current stage of development and will evolve as the organisation matures.

Why Education Matters

Education is protection. Education is possibility.

For children growing up in unstable environments, education offers more than learning. It provides safety, routine, nourishment, and a sense of future.

When schooling is disrupted for long periods of time, children face lost years of development - academically, emotionally, and socially. Rebuilding education is one of the most stabilising and hopeful interventions available to societies emerging from crisis.
Our Vision
We believe every child should have access to a safe, stable and inspiring place to learn — no matter the circumstances they are born into. Our vision is to build education systems that help children regain their confidence, develop their talents and imagine a future filled with opportunity.

Rebuilding Education Where It’s Needed Most

Hundreds of thousands of children in Gaza currently lack stable access to education. We are working with governments, international organisations and local partners to create a future-ready school system that includes:

  • non-governmental schools with international oversight
  • modern curriculum and teacher development
  • daily meals and wellbeing support
  • strong safeguarding at every level

The model developed here will guide how education systems are rebuilt in other conflict-affected regions.

Our Ambition:

A resilient education ecosystem for future generations. By 2030, we aim to:
522
modern schools built across Gaza
500,000
children reached within five years
30,000
teachers trained and supported
