Last week, Education for Peace had the pleasure of spending time with the Real Madrid Foundation in a thoughtful and inspiring exchange around the role of sport in education.
During the session, the Foundation team introduced their Sport-Educational Model - a holistic approach that places values such as respect, teamwork, equality, health, motivation and self-esteem at the heart of every training programme. More than sport, the conversation focused on how structured physical activity can help young people build confidence, resilience and a sense of belonging.

The meeting created space for open dialogue: from how teachers and coaches are trained, to how programmes can be adapted to different cultural and learning contexts, and how sport can support children’s social and emotional development alongside education.
It was an energising first step and a shared learning moment. Education for Peace is grateful for the generosity, openness and expertise of the Real Madrid Foundation team, and looks forward to continuing the conversation as we explore how values-led sport can support education and wellbeing for children in crisis-affected communities.
