Shezan Amiji is an entrepreneur and investor with a two-decade track record in digital payments, sustainability, and media. He has founded, scaled, and exited multiple ventures across regions, generating nearly $250 million in enterprise value. His expertise spans digital media, mobile and crypto payments, data analytics, blockchain solutions, and omnichannel retail.
He is currently Managing Director of AMISON SFO DMCC, a Dubai-based single-family office. In 2024, he led the sale of his family business, ATRACO Industrial Enterprises - one of Africa’s major garment manufacturers with operations in Kenya, Ethiopia, and Madagascar - to Gokaldas Exports Ltd.
From 2021 to 2023, he served as Entrepreneur in Residence at D10X Citi Ventures, Citibank’s global innovation arm, focusing on fintech venture incubation and strategic investment. Previously, he co-founded Beam Wallet, a pioneering mobile payments and rewards platform that grew to 1.75 million users, 5,000 merchants, and secured partnerships with MasterCard and du. Beam raised $17 million, expanded internationally, and its UAE operations were acquired by Majid Al Futtaim in 2018, delivering a 4x return to founding shareholders. Shezan also founded 7DAYS, the Middle East’s first free daily newspaper, which became the UAE’s highest-circulation publication and was later sold to the Daily Mail and General Trust; and EcoVentures, the region’s first carbon credit trading firm, which successfully traded a $50 million portfolio of emission credits.
He began his career in investment banking at Goldman Sachs International and Standard Chartered Bank. He holds an MA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford and an MBA from the Wharton School. A founding member of YPO Dubai, he has lived and worked across four continents and conducted business in more than 20 countries.
